Yeah, especially when Del Po he gets that “huuuuUUH!” going that’s when u know something big is brewing. But lately Fed has been able to stay away from the Del Po brewery unlike the 09 US Open… I’ve searched for a name for those Del Po? hay-makers and “sideways overhead” is perfect thanks NTRpolice

That shadow is irritating. I’ve played on courts that are partially covered by a shadow and its way worse than heavy winds. I love Del Po’s forehands when he gets them going, hitting those “sideways overheads”? as I call them. Ultimately, DelPo is no match for RF, because hes too streaky and can only beat RF when he wins more points than he should (statistically speaking). I love it when DelPo hits 3-4 forehands in a row. It’s like watching 3-4 haymakers just waiting for one to connect!

If you scroll through from start to end,? you can see the movement of the sun’s shadow which I think is quite cool…

Maybe? not every time, but the majority of the time he will yes. But when you take away the bounce of the Nadal ball e.g. the world tour finals, Federer dictates and dominates him on the indoor hard surface.

@sultanabran1 you are right but federers main problem with nadal is the topspin , federer can dominat against everyone because most of the players hit the ball flat nadals forehand has so much height and spin on the ball that federer cant get any chance but to block it back ,roger knows howt beat nadal? now he proved that in indian welles this year because nadals backhand is soft now if you hit to nadals backhand roger will win everytime just dont hit to the forehand ,

del potro is way too predictable, pounding it to feds backhand isnt going to beat him in a slam unless he has a major off day, nole, rafa pound it? to feds backhand and they have the speed to dictate to fed and boss him from the baseline,i honestly dont think del potro will win another slam the top 4 are way better than him

I missed this match, looks like vintage Fed. His movement looks sharper than at any time last year. He appears to be hungrier. Not winning a GS last year, the Olympics this year are no doubt big motivators for Fed. I thought Fed’s strategy was working against Rafa, i.e. hitting heavy, looped shots to Rafa’s BH but then he abandoned? it and started hitting to Rafa’s FH. Fed seemed to mentally check out of the match for a few games. This just doesn’t happen against anyone else.

also a major problem? against leftys is that it takes his slice almost totally out of the game

  19. Madridlongboardman on July 31st, 2012 11:04 pm

    GREATEST? OF ALL TIME!

  20. sultanabran1 on July 31st, 2012 11:04 pm

is shows here, the only player Federer’s backhand has trouble against is nadal. and that’s ONLY because nadal is left handed. clinical performance in this match anyway.?
